As the symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks go, dizziness may be considered by many to be one of the lesser problems. Which which on the surface may seem to be quite rational. But when you consider the debilitating effects of dizziness then you can see that treating it lightly may not be as sensible as it first appears.
Simply put, a dizzy turn that results in somebody falling over and injuring themselves — sometimes quite badly — is not something that can be said to be inconsequential effect, nor could the consequences of a dizzy spell whilst someone is driving be thought to be a lightweight matter.
Dizziness is typified by a number of subjective symptoms such as feelings of:
confusion,
disorientation
floating,
giddiness,
light-headedness,
loss of balance
wooziness
Many people find dizziness or vertigo very disturbing particularly when it is associated with nausea and vomiting.
Dizziness that arises from the balance centres of the brain is milder, and may be accompanied by things such as slurred speech, double vision. Also brain pathology can cause a sensation of an off-balance sensation.
Dizziness is also associated with light-headedness.
If you suffer from dizziness or any of the other symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks mentioned above your best course of action is a trip to see your medical adviser. That’s because dizziness may not be just a symptom of anxiety or panic attack disorder– it can also be as a result of a brain injury or a stroke.
