Hot flushes, a common symptom of panic attacks and are typically experienced as a feeling of intense heat with sweating and rapid heartbeat.

Typically they last from two to thirty minutes for each occurrence, with the sensation of heat usually begining in the face or face and chest.  In some people it may appear elsewhere such as the back of the neck, and for others it can spread throughout the whole body.  As well as being an internal sensation the surface of the skin, especially the face, can become hot to the touch.

Hot flushes are common symptoms of menopause and perimenopause.
