Guide to Treatment
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise – anxiety disorders are real, serious, and…
treatable!
Most experts believe that anxiety disorders are caused by a combination of biological and environmental factors.
Virtually everyone with an anxiety disorder can be helped with professional care, although the success of treatment varies from person to person. Over all, treatment must be tailored to the individual.
Where some may respond to treatment very quickly, others may need longer. Treatment can be complicated because some people may have more than one anxiety disorder to deal with. Or their situation may be complicated by depression or substance abuse.
Although treatment is tailored to the individual, there are several standard approaches that have proved effective.
Therapists will use one, or a combination, of these therapies.
